Rick Sherwood grew up in the heart of Cajun Country, Lafayette, La.. At the age of 16 Rick taught himself to play the guitar and later the bass guitar and fiddle. In 1976 he began his professional career as a musician/intertainer, and continued for 39 years. He's performed a variety of music genre's during his long career which included Country, Classic Rock, Blues and of course those great Rock-n-Roll Oldies of the 50's and 60's. We are proud to say 14 of those years as a professional musician he has graced our stage, before retiring from the road. And we couldn't be more pleased to have him come out of retirement and step right back into his rightful place as a member of the Rockin' 88's.
Born and raised in New York City, Phil Kozak grew up listening to the music of Duke Ellington and all the "Big Bands". At the young age of 12 he started playing drums and by the age of 17 was playing for such names as "The Sherelles", "Bobby Lewis" and "The Dovels".
After serving our country in the U.S. Army, Phil toured with various groups across the country. Then in 1989 he joined up with B.B. Secrist. And the rest as they say is history. Phil has been a member of the "Rockin' 88's" for 29 years now. He is truly more like family. B.B. says "when you work with someone for that long, you kind of think of them as your kinfolk".
